Lemar Vaults in to the Top Ten with the Help of Norway

Norwegian producers Stargate are responsible for the latest top ten hit from Lemar, “The Way Love Goes” which enters the UK singles chart at No.8. They have already collaborated on the hit “50/50” from 2003. As many young artists, Lemar’s career started in a talent show – the BBC show program Fame Academy, which preceded Idol. This March, Lemar issues his greatest hits collection with a few new tracks.  The singer teams up with immensly popular pop group JLS on the track “What About Love.” Another track, “You Don’t Love Me,” samples The Supremes. Lemar is of English origin and was born in April 1978.

Lemar’s “The Way Love Goes” is featured on the latest WelcheMusic compilation, which can be downloaded here.

Agnes to Include Additional Tracks on International Edition

Agnes made her breakthrough back in 2005, when she won Idol. Her international breakthrough came with “Release Me,” which made the UK Top 3 as well as topping the Billboard dance chart. Her latest album Dance Love Pop will include an additional three tracks – “Secret Love,” “Sometimes I Forget” and “You Rain.” Two of the tracks have been re-recorded – “Big Blue Wall” as well as the new single “I Need You Now.”

“I Need You Now” only made it to No.40 in the UK and was issued in mid-November.

A Decade of Hits

As we’re approaching the end of the decade, there’s no better time than to sum up what happened in the 00’s. In the UK, the decade started off with Westlife’s  ABBA rendition of “I Have a Dream.”  So please just watch out, this blog will be dedicated to a decade of hits. The group actually made their breakthrough in 1999, becoming one of the few acts who continuously delivered hits throughout the decade. They were signed by Simon Cowell (the inventor of Idol and X-Factor) and their debut hit “Swear It Again” was actually only issued in Asia at first.

It became the act’s first UK No.1 hit back in April 1999, and was the start of a hugely successful career. To date, the act’s achieved 14 UK No.1’s – but they haven’t reached the top spot since 2006 with Bette Midler’s “The Rose.”  But to be fair, the lads are still going strong as “What About Now” did reach the runner-up spot this October.
